ABOUT FARBAA INTERIORS

The name Farbaa comes from the Slovak word Farba, meaning color. It’s a small nod to where my story began, and to the design philosophy that defines my work today: color used with intention, balance, and purpose.

I’m Andrea Adamicka, founder of Farbaa Interiors, a New York based design studio focused on creating colorful, thoughtful interiors designed for real life.

Where My Love for Design Began

I grew up in Slovakia, a small country in the heart of Europe. One of my earliest memories of home is the bedroom I shared with my younger sister. The room was simple, but it had two bright red twin beds that immediately drew your eye.

To soften the bold color, my mother sewed delicate curtains in a soft ribbon patterned fabric. Even as a child, I noticed how those elements worked together. Strong color balanced by gentle texture.

That small room sparked my lifelong appreciation for how color and thoughtful details shape the feeling of a space.

Designing Homes for Real Life

After high school, I moved to Munich, Germany to deepen my German studies and worked as a nanny for a successful businesswoman. Her home was beautifully curated with carefully selected furniture and art.

What fascinated me most was a striking curved red sofa in her living room. Once again, color made the room unforgettable. That moment stayed with me.

My journey later brought me to the United States, where I completed a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and a Master’s degree in Marketing. I eventually moved to New York City and began my career in the luxury industry as a Marketing Manager for a global jewelry and watch company.

Later, I transitioned into Visual Merchandising, where my team was responsible for creating beautiful, inviting boutique environments. From selecting materials and fabrics to coordinating floral installations and display elements, I discovered how much I loved shaping spaces that made people feel something the moment they walked in.

That experience ultimately led me to pursue formal design education at the Interior Design Institute, where I earned my Diploma in Interior Design.

While studying design, I began transforming the home I share with my husband and our two children. Designing spaces that were colorful, functional, and filled with personality quickly became my greatest joy.

Living in New York also taught me something important: every inch matters.

A beautiful room must also work for everyday life. Layout, storage, flow, and functionality are just as important as color and style.

Today, Farbaa Interiors focuses on three core principles:

Color with Purpose
Bold, balanced palettes that feel welcoming and timeless.

Every Inch Considered
Thoughtful layouts that maximize space, function, and flow.

Designed Around Your Life
Personalized interiors created for the way your family truly lives.

A Home That

Feels Like Yours.

I believe your home should be more than just beautiful. It should reflect your personality, support your lifestyle, and create moments your family will remember for years.

Helping clients create spaces that feel warm, vibrant, and deeply personal is the heart of my work.

And perhaps it all started with those two red beds in a small room in Slovakia.
